I am a natural light on location photographer in the Northern Virginia, DC Metro area. I love to photograph either at your home or other selected outdoor location. Travel cost is included in session cost up to 20 miles from my home in Lorton, Virginia. Some of my favorite on location spots include Old Town Alexandria, downtown Occoquan, Virginia or your home!
{before your session}
Your session fee should be paid within 5 days of booking your session. This secures your session date and time. Tanya will also send you a link to her online portrait agreement and model release. All clients pay the session fee to commission Tanya for their portraits, and may then choose their portraits from the the a la carte price list or select from our popular collections.
Prior to your session, I will conduct a short interview with you about what your expectations are, what "mood" you are looking for, and what personality we are wanting to capture. Photo sessions at your home are encouraged as well. I feel that children are best captured in their own environment. After we set a date, I get to work planning and preparing for just the right location.
{during your session}
For Child and Family sessions, please plan for approximately 1 to 1 1/2 hours to capture those perfect shots. We'll take plenty of breaks for the little ones.
For Newborn sessions, please plan on at least 2 hours for the session. Newborns can be very fussy, and they tend to the run the show, so we'll need time for diaper changes, feedings, etc.
{after your session}
Images will be available approximately 2-3 weeks after your session and will be presented to you in a private online slideshow and shopping cart that you are encouraged to share with friends and family. The gallery and cart are live for seven days and you will be contacted before they are made live so that you may select seven consecutive days that work well for your schedule. During these seven days you will make your portrait selection and place your order; if you must delay ordering, we can archive all of your images for a $25 weekly fee at your request (limit 3 months) until your order is placed. Payment of your portrait order is due in full when you place the order. All portraits will be ready for you approximately three-four weeks after payment is received. Ordered images are archived for one year while unordered images are purged six weeks after your session. Due to the nature of custom photography, all sales are final. Tanya does, of course, guarantee that the portraits you receive meet the highest standards in every respect and wants you to be more than pleased with your heirloom images.
